My orthodontist is putting the hooks on prior to surgery, but
they're only being used to wire shut during surgery, and nothing
post-surgery. The hooks they use with braces are placed in
between the brackets, and will act like the brackets you have on
that have a little "lip" on the bottom. I believe you have 1-2 of
those already on the bottom teeth, probably the 2-3 tooth over
from the middle.
