How to ask Dr. to stabilize jaw

Not to beat a dead horse, but I"ve posted a lot in the other threads about my Dr. stating no fixation post-surgery. This really (really!) making me nervous and I'm not sure how to really ask him to do this, or if that's even possible.

When asked yesterday what he does, he stated that the jaws are wired shut during surgery, but nothing is done post-surgery; no bands or anything.

My surgery is the 29th, and I'm getting really nervous about this!
