Im sure post surgery you will have a sort of sock over your head to keep your jaw together and you will have alot of ice. After my surgery I had alot of ice and kept the sock on my head but was still able to talk (sort of ... oww more pain meds or hi mom and dad)

I really dont think you have anything to be nervous about
