Posted by vee6zee on September 26, 2008 at 11:17:07:I just got back from another meeting with my apnea doctor, and I have a surgery scheduled for October 16th.
The notes that I was given refer to the surgery as a transoral tongue base reduction with a 23hr. observation. Length of the operation 1.5 hours under general anethesia. Special instruments needed are listed as a Evac -70 coblation with telescope tower.
I am just wondering if anyone has gone this route to treat their sleep apnea?
A little background if you did not catch my other post is that I have already had the MMA and UP3 procedures done with minimal improvements. My doctor thinks that I should have a 70 to 80% success rate with this surgery following those other two.
Any thoughts from anyone (having the surgery or not) would be appreciated
Thanks
