Nausea is VERY common with narcotic pain meds. You should ALWAYS take pain meds with something in your stomach first.

Pain meds will slow up your entire GI tract. Resulting in nausea, gas, constipation. Some medications to ask for might be oral Ondansetrron or oral metoclopramide for nausea. Or, you can try some Maalox, which might help some.

Shivering is NOT normal after any surgery. Are you running a fever ?? Take your temp twice a day, and keep an eye on this.

Good luck,

Bill
