Hopefully one of two things can happen.
1) You will not be tightly banded, and will be able to take pills. This does happen depending who does your procedure, and what your procedure turns into...
2) If you are tightly banded, and can't swallow pills, an alternative medication of a similar class can be substituted for a short duration to be given IV, by liquid, or by skin patch. This is usually what is done.Or...depending on your blood pressure, and other conditions ( a "doable", but not the most optimal circumstance), a few of your medications may be defered for a short duration until you can swallow. If you are only a mild hypertensive, the risks are more in longterm health maintenance rather than acute need. Therefore, a "med vacation" for a couple weeks is not unreasonable. If you have more serious high blood pressure or heart failure, other arrangements to get you the correct medicines will be found.
This is not something that will be overlooked in your care.
