I am 3 wks & 2 days post-op, but still having unmanageable pain without meds. Is this normal? My surgeon told me about a week ago to only take at night, but I am still having pretty serious numbness and tightness during the day. How long out from surgery was it that you were able to get of pain meds, and really not have overwhelming pain?

Also, I'm still not talking normal. By the end of the day, there's a pretty noticeable "slur" as I don't have any control over my totally numb lips/cheeks. How long did unnatural talking occur, if at all?
