The hospital where he does surgery would probably have a record of the number of surgeries he has done.

Every-one's face and airway are different, so what one person needs will not work for everyone. That includes the need for TMJ surgery.

You should find a surgeon you feel comfortable with and bite the bullet. There are no guarantees with any surgeon.
