They may have stopped giving out that info in hospitals. What you need to do is find a surgeon who you feel a connection with and you also feel like you can trust. Then you will feel comfortable with the numbers he gives you. If you don't trust the numbers then you can't trust the surgeon.

An excellent alternative was given below by flip. Getting a trach is the only 100% full and permanent cure. Many people have done it and none that I know of has wanted to go back to CPAP or get surgery.
