We have had a long term relationship on this site and you know all about my past apnea history. Perhaps others are not aware.

I did not intend to mislead anyone about my trach. Even though a trach is usually a cure all for our problems, in my case it is not.

My apnea problem is due to a damaged brain stem and central nervous system sleep apnea. Not obstructive apnea.

Even with a trach I am not able to breathe on my own during sleep, my system does not permit my brain to send signals to my body. Normal information stops at my brain stem. Because of this I must sleep on a vent with added O2, I use no mask because my hose is attached directly to my trach tube, hard wired, so to speak.

I hope this clarifies my position.
