Here is an absract from LW in dallas. The study had three treatment groups.
1)Those with health joints who underwent MMA with counter-clockwise rotation
2)Those with dislocated TMJ's who underwent the joint replacement AND MMA surgery
3)Those with dislocated TMJ's who underwent only MMA surgeryThe individuals in the first 2 groups had stable results following surgery. Those in group 3 had a change in the occlusal plane (indicating a less stable result). There were a total of 72 people in the study. There were 35 people in the second group and 16 people in the third group. I was not able to read the study other than the abstract. But i have enclosed the link to the abstract on pubmed.
