"In fact, one of my ENT's said all I need to have is an
adenoidectomy and a uvuloplasty to solve my problem."

I would be very skeptical of any ENT who makes major promises
to you. Any seasoned surgeon doing many of these procedures
knows that there is absolutely no way to make such a strong
claim. I know many ENT's and the majority do not know as much
as you would like them to know regarding sleep apnea. Of
course- you could be one of the few adults with very large
adenoids that would benefit from the surgery. But most adults
to NOT have large adenoids. Adenoid size peaks around age 6
in children and decreases in size as a child ages. Tonsils and
adenoids are the major cause of sleep apnea in children and
removing them results in an approximately 80% cure rate.

Ask your ENT why he thinks taking your adenoids out will help
you.
