I am a long time "lurker" but this is the 1st time I've posted.

I had surgery w/Dr. KL last August: tonsillectomy, GA, & his palatopharygoplasty. My follow up sleep study was a couple of weeks ago, and my RDI is now 43! (Virtually the same) Dr is now recommending MMA

I vividly remember in the early phase of recovery thinking "If this doesn't work, I swear I'll go back to cpap before having another surgery" Well, so much for cpap.

I have found a lot of encouragment from reading all the posts here. But can anyone compare the 2 surgeries? (especially in terms of pain & recovery) It was a good 4 weeks before the pain was mostly gone, and it was the worst pain ever (especially the throat from the tonsils) And swelling in my mouth made me panic.

It's a really scary decision to make Did you feel better after you made the decision? It seems to be between having your face cut in half or being miserably tired.

Words of wisdom?
