Hi Silvergirl,

I read your posts, and I think you are doing the right thing in regard to your surgery (ie. doing the MMA first off, and then waiting to see the result before considering relatively more risky soft tissue surgeries).

ABout the septoplasty, and turbinate reduction, I had that as part of my MMA. I had a deviated septum corrected and turninates snipped. I think it has improved my breathing to a slight extent. I do not think it is so risky. The funny thing is that I didn't even know that he had done it. He did it during the MMA operation. What a guy eh? After the operation, I told my doctor that I had a deviated septum. He said to me: "oh yeah, I forgot to tell you, you no longer have a deviated septum...". Pretty funny!

Revocery, pain and swelling... Well, I can remember being very stuffed up for about one week. My doc asked me not to blow my nose. It was driving me crazy. Against my docs orders, I used to take a very hot shower and blow ever so slightly. It seemed to help a bit. My surgeon didn't like that I did that.
