I have never been able to breath through my nose due to a deviated septum since birth.

Had a rhinoplasty years ago with a piece of a rib inserted but it was not effective and had to be removed.

Fifteen years ago I had a permanent trach (because of a different life threatening problem) and I have never had another problem since having the trach.

I am not suggesting that is something you should want to try, it would be a last resort for a more dangerous problem

It solved all my breathing troubles and provided a trouble free airway for my vent and O2.
