one of the nerves runs in a canal along the interior of the
mandible. it can be damaged when cutting the mandible. Yes
the nerves will be stretched to some extent but he was pretty
sure there would be no permanent numbness.THe major nerve
along the mandible was not damaged apparently. He has a
special saw that he uses to cut the mandible in a certain way. I
am not sure how many people use it. Things like numbness
comes down to surgeon technique. My surgeon is probably the
best at it. He has done so many. He also straightened my
septum during the surgery as well.

I am out of the hospital in 2 days and feel great. My energy is
not perfect but I feel basically fine. I can't believe. I just have
hiccups that won't go away. I have braces but he did not put any
rubber bands on. So far so good.
