Hi sleepdeprived,

I was wondering, what exactly are your symptoms when you try to breathe through your nose? I'm in my late 20s and a male and I've been experiencing a similar situation for the past year: when I breathe through my nose, I get light headed/dizzy, I feel fatigued, I sometimes get chest pain, and sometimes I feel like I'm suffocating and have a fast heart beat. I have done many tests on my heart (EKG and 24-hour holter monitor), all showing up normal.

When I breathe through my mouth, I experience none of those symptoms at all. I feel rejuvenated and lively when I breathe out of my mouth.

My ENT said I just have slightly enlarged turbinates, but nothing more than that. I'm going to see my primary care doctor soon to see what he says. I'm wondering if my situation is all psychological because I can sleep fine breathing through my nose.
