I think turkey being a sedative is a myth... it does contain high levels of tryptophan, but not high enough to sedate you. I'll bet that if you ate a full Thanksgiving meal and substituted chicken for turkey, you would be just as sleepy. It's the overeating that makes us sleepy at Thanksgiving, not the turkey :-)
I haven't tried chamomile tea, but it is known to have a very relaxing effect. Celestial Seasonings markets a chamomile tea called "Sleepytime."
In fact any herbal tea might be worth trying, but don't drink mint tea at bedtime if you're prone to nighttime acid reflux. Mint makes reflux worse.
