I can tell you for sure, that my uvula was simply cut right off with a laser. There was no strategic incisions in my case.

The description that you just provided is the kind of information that people (including fellow surgeons) desparately need. Maybe a person might read that and check with his surgeon to see if the surgeon had the same approach.

I am happy to change the topic, but I hope that we will not neglect to talk about this issue, because I feel that it is extremely worthwhile. By giving people information, they can make good choices.

You know, not so long ago, I was talking to a person on this board who was in trouble. He had had a UPPP but had gotten worse. His apnea had become so bad that he could only sleep sitting up. In talking to him, he mentioned that he had been heavy before the operation. If a person like him, or his surgeon for that matter, could have seen what you wrote about screening / being a good candidate (ie. not being obese), then maybe the poor fellow could have avoided a lot of misery.
