Majority of the fat that is transferred will be gone. However, some fat will remain. The survived fat along with scar tissues from the “dissolved” fat can “plumped” up the area. The amount of fat preserved depends on how it was harvested. Gortex or other synthetic materials are not resorbed but has higher rate of infection, extrusion…etc. The selection of material is the surgeon’s preference.
