I have read that a few of you have been successful in battles with insurance companies.

In my case, the dr who will be doing my MMA is "non-preferred" (with Blue Shield). They have authorized the surgery, and will pay 70%, which sounds great until they tell you they will pay 70% of what they consider "reasonable & customary." This is less than 10% of the actual surgeon's fee. I can't imagine any dr would accept the paltry amount they quoted me to do this surgery, even if they were in network.

Has anyone been successful in getting them to increase what they see as reasonable & customary? If so, can you let me know how? Thanks!
