It's hard to make a judgement just based on the information in this post, but my gut feeling would be this: if two surgeons have told you that you are a MMA candidate, and if your insurance will cover it (or you have the financial means to pay for it), then go for the MMA. It will probably open up your airway more than the UPPP.

What does your husband mean by "work hard to get better?" Does that mean lose weight, or try a new CPAP mask?
