Sleepsurgeon, I have a rather important question (to me) about MMA. Have you treated any black patients before?
Since many blacks tend to have a greater degree of prognathism, I would think that a MMA procedure may have results that improve OSA but result in a undesired appearance.
Most of the before and after pictures of MMA patients I've seen show people with rather recessed upper and lower jaws (especially lower jaws), and the procedure ends up giving them a radically different, though improved appearance. If one does not have a recessed lower jaw and already has a degree of maxillary prognathism, wouldn't such an MMA patient end up looking...well..rather bad?
This concern is causing me to hold back on pursing an MMA, even though it would be the best treatment for me.
Oh, anyone else is welcome to chime in. Please do. :)
