Oxygen?

At the request of my family doctor I saw a pulmonologist today. I told him I did not tolerate cpap and he said my apnea is not that bad I probably could get by doing nothing. My AHI is 16 with lowest desat at 62% with 15 minutes below 88%. The sleep doc wrote it was moderate apnea with severe hypoxemia. Unfortunately I moved to another state and no longer have access to that sleep doctor anymore, I feel like he was a 100 times better than this guy.

the doctor I saw today said I could just use oxygen at night. Will that help me? My family doc is worried about doing permanent damage to my body with low oxygen at night. I am starting to doubt if using oxygen will help, it doesn't make sense to me. Can someone explain this to me. I can't afford to waste money.

Thanks.
