Dear Sleepsurgeon:
As Captin Cannuck posted because he was
from Canada he did
not have insurance in the United States and
therefore could not use you.But he found a great sleep apnea surgeon in
Canada. That surgeon did not advancement him as far
as he could, because he was afraid of the
Captin appearance. However, the Captin now
feels great after adding the CPAP and is now
very happy he had MMA.As the Captin posted it was enough
addvancement to widen his airway so he did
not have sleep apnea symoptoms any more.I asked 3 orthodontists about bimaxilly
protrudion for me. But, they said it would not be
recommend for my because I my
Front teeth are not protrudive. I am Caucasian,
However my upper jaw and to a lesser degree
are normal and/or to a little degree protrudive. Then I asked if I could have via surgery (after
MMA) surgery have after teeth are removed the
bone cut out for more initial MMA advancement
and the answer was " you would not want to
through that.I do not get it becasuse having sleep apnea is
torchor for me.As Roger wrote he would have MMA every year
if necessary to to free him from his severe
tirednessI do not think other doctors realize how much
some of us suffer everyday. I can take suffering
for a long time but not for forever.Additionally, I have seen MMA blob one not on
this site whwere the patient was 50 was just
advanced 6.5 MM (and had very severe sleep
apnea, and a BiPap pressure of 20 on the top
end and 2 years later he is so happy and does
not use a PAP anymore. The MMA Blob is:

like she also was
not moved far and is so happy.I get your point to insure sucess but there are
other proceedures
Inclring a Trach if it does a lesser advancement
does not work if the CPAP does not releave the
sleep apnea sympotoms after MMA as in the
Captian case.I would think a smaller advancement as in
DeSota case and in my case gives the best
hope if that is what is stopping us, and many
others from having a MMA.I know you will say sleep apnea gets worst with
aging. However some sleep doctors have written one
reason people get sleep apnea symptoms on
CPAP is because of and abnormal air way.Sincerely yours,
Bill
Any comments by you would be greatly
apprecaiated.Sincerely yours,
Bill
