I was doing so well for a couple of weeks. Then I started having more daytime sleepiness about a week ago. It seemed to coincide with a significant increase in purulent post-nasal drainage. I had been expressing some bloody mucousy nasal discharge (post-nasal drainage) since the surgery but the last week it was mostly just junky looking stuff.

It is funny (in a not-funny way) how quickly we can assume the worst and have your mind go to dark places about the success of the surgery.

Just wondering how many people out there have had a setback like this. (I know the answer already) but it is always good to hear that others have taken a step back without the dooms-day scenario coming true. As an allergist, I treat sinus infections every day so I have started a potent antibiotic (Avelox, similar to Levaquin) and a burst of steroids- of course discussing this with my surgeon.

My bite has not changed at all so it feels like my the plates and screws holding things together are still in tact. It is amazing how quickly that initial high we feel after initial success can come crashing down.

Uggh!!!

Brian
