Hi,

I had the surgery on Monday -- MMA, 12mm advancement on upper and lower jaws, the height of my upper jaw also was reduced, I had the procedure to pull the tongue muscles (genioglossus advancement?), and something else to correct the proportion of my chin to maintain similar appearance as before surgery.

All that took a bit over 3 hours. The first day was really painful and I had to stay on the ICU overnight as a precaution.
Once I was out of ICU, things got much better, and I stayed in hospital until Thursday.

Things are getting better each day. Today, I enjoyed the California weather and walked outside a bit. There is some swelling and bruises, but my older son told me today "Mom, you look better". He was afraid to look at me on the first few days.
The youngest was fearless, and even said 2 days ago I was still the cutest mom ever!

It is to soon to notice any differences, and Dr. R. said for the next 3 weeks my body will still be feeling the recovering from surgery. Although, I can say I had a very reasonable sleep last night, and with nice restful dreams.

I'm now counting the days to remove the rubber bands next Tuesday.
