A few more comments...If you're going to the Stanford Hosp, stay at the Stanford Park hotel as they are very accommodating. They have a refrigerator in the room. I stayed for a week with my wife helping. You can heat soups with the microwave and keep everything cold in the frig. The rooms are nice and clean and easy distance to the hospital. Not too expensive but not cheap either. Use the saline they give you to gently wash out your nose. There will be blood clots for several days after discharge. Just clean out your nose regularly and you will breathe fine. The clots are gross but they are normal. The pain is not too bad but don't forget to take your pain meds regularly. If you take them on schedule, the pain is very manageable. By day 6-7, you will feel in control again and much better. Good luck.
