About your mild case, I suggest weight loss and CPAP. In the book titled `The Promise Of Sleep` the author said that people with even mild OSA should seek out treatment. Best will be CPAP therapy. It is non-invasive and works very well. This involves wearing a mask with slightly pressurized air.

Watch out for soft tissue surgeries such as UPPP or LAUP. They do not have very good outcomes.
