I agree with the warning about fibrous stuff. If you use a blender, you will probably have to send the resulting sludge through a strainer because the fibrous materials will be hard to to swallow for the first week or two after surgery. After a couple of weeks it should get easier and you'll be able to progressively swallow more and more things.
