It appears that there is a difference in opinion even at Stanford. The phase 1 protocol (UPPP/GA/Tonsilectomy/Adenoidenctomy) is strongly recommended for a "majority" of patients before considering MMA where as the "SleepSurgeon" seems to favor MMA before the phased protocol for a "majority" of patients.

From what I gather, this forum seems to favor MMA over the phased protocol.
