Thanks for the pointers. I read both the links you pointed out.

My specific comments were to do with UPPP, not MMA. Also I am quoting published literature and what the doc told me about the 70% cure rate (AHI <= 5). If I remember right, it was from this article:

In my case, I have a small lower jaw, had small tonsils, I am 46 and am mildly overweight (165 lbs) on a 5'8" frame. Reading Dr. Li's post, I get the feeling that he would have recommended a MMA and not the phase 1 for me. Perhaps my case may be useful data for people who are trying to decide between UPPP/MMA.

I must say that the quality of information on this forum is very very high. Thanks to everyone for contributing to this community and Sandman for organizing the information.
