Posted by Needssleep on May 14, 2009 at 14:50:14:I would like to ask a simple question: is MMA the right choice to improve snoring if there is no significant OSA?
Just to summarize my case:
3 and 1/2 years ago a sleep test showed a severe apnea (above 12 events/hour of apnea and adding hypopnea 47/hour).
Exercise + diet: I lost weight from 194 lbs to 172 lbs (5'10" tall). I just got the results of my new sleep test (the fifth): zero apnea, but 17 hypopnea/hour. The sleep doctor decribe this as "mild" and says that it does not need treatment. Good. Just cross my fingers that getting older, the OSA will not get severe again.
But, the snoring is very very bad: 46% of the sleping time and loud. There is no sleep stage 4 and stage 3 is only 13% (instead of the 20-25%).
I am willing to have MMA if it is efficient in treating snoring symptoms. I do not want UPPP.
Thanks in advance for the answer, and sorry that I could not find the answer elswhere as the focus seems always on severe OSA.
