Personally I wouldn't have an MMA just for snoring, but I think it depends on your circumstances. If I were married and my wife were threatening to divorce me because of snoring, then I might think consider it! I am no doctor but I think it might help the snoring.

However: I am curious why your doctor thinks you don't need any treatment. Do you feel rested in the mornings? On your sleep test, were the hypopneas associated with arousals (i.e. a change in sleep stage)? Did they put you on CPAP during the sleep test, and were your measurements better on CPAP? Are you using CPAP regularly and are you able to tolerate it? Does the CPAP eliminate the snoring?

Also, sorry to be pessimistic but I think if you leave it untreated, then as you get older the snoring/apnea will probably get worse. As the body ages the airway becomes more likely to collapse.
