Oh man...the swelling will take months..and even when you think "oh this is what I look like" there will be more swelling to go. I thought I was going to look like Droopy Doy for a long time...and then one day I didn't. Give it 3 months. The numbness...well, you get used to it after a while...once you stop slurring your speech and drooling...okay I still drool sometimes but that may just be how I roll. But seriously, I still have some residual numbness in my lower lip, my gums, and the roof of my mouth, but nothing that affects my everyday life. I just have to remember that if something is hot on my tongue it's not ok/safe to just shove it up to the roof of my mouth where it is no longer hot (feeling).
Good luck with your recovery. Remember that after fixing your sleep, everything else: the healing, the appearance is a walk in the park because you can SLEEP and BREATHE. It's for the best...the rest is frosting. :)
best,
dreamette
