I posted a response to someone recently about the experiences of a UPPP...and it looked like a lot of people concurred...the UPPP recovery was SO MUCH WORSE than the MMA as far as pain was concerned... I suppose it's because soft tissue stuff just hurts topically so much more than bone-work. I had the MMA and then had to get the UPPP (kept the U) 1.5 years later and that second surgery was a DOOZIE. So much more claustrophobia and near panicking. That's just my $.02
