Some people can tell their sleep is better right away. The first report is often that they are dreaming more which is a good sign. But not everyone. For some it takes several months or even longer to unlearn the damage done by bad sleep over years and years.

Most Drs will have you do a study in 3-6 months after surgery to compare to pre-surgery data. At 3 months though, most people probably still have some swelling that can affect the airway.
