I heard about this a few months ago. It is said to work by increasing air resistance at the nasal exits which increases pressure in the airway, thus opening the airway. It may do that during exhale, but what about inhale where the tissue can still collapse? I wonder if the exhale pressure created is equal to a typical CPAP setting? That would be determined by the valve resistance and the person's respiratory effort.
