I agree, seems like a lot of wonder and what if's.
From reading how it works, if there is a full blown apnea, the airway collapses due to negative pressure, during the inhale. So there wouldn't be airflow to increase the pressure in the airway while the airway is closed. Once you begin to exhale, creating positive pressure, there isn't much of a need for additional pressure to keep the airway open. Just the way I see it, I may be missing something.
I would think it would have a better chance of working with an hypopnea where airflow is decreased but doesn't stop completely.
Only time will tell.
