Yup, those were my initial thoughts as well. The airway would collapse during inhale due to negative pressure. I googled this last night for "provent sleep apnea therapy" and came across a forum run by a doctor who also had the same puzzled questions about how this works exactly. BUT he did say that the numbers with the clinical studies don't lie, so he's going to try it out with some of his patients in his clinical practice to see how it goes. I'm going to try it out myself. My take/theory on how this works is that when you exhale and build up positive pressure, you're then inhaling under this pressurized environment. (Well at least it's pressurized for half a second during the initial stage of inspiration?). I could be wrong, but like that doc said, the numbers don't lie...
