MMA is NOT going to help central sleep apnea if the centrals are real events. Inproper pressure settings on CPAP/BIPAP can cause central events. You need to go back to look at your first diagnostic sleep study (without positive pressure therapy trial) and see how much central sleep apena you had and determine if these are real. Sometimes, obstructive events can look like centrals and will go away following MMA. Typically, these events are just a few. If you had a lot of central events, then they may be real and surgery is NOT going to help you. You need to discuss this issue with your sleep physician. If you do have central sleep apnea, then it is puzzling as you are young and healthy, without any CNS or cardiac issues.
