Posted by biam2009 on July 12, 2009 at 07:39:52:Almost 5 months after my MMA surgery and my sleep is bad, it got worse over the last month and a half. June 7, 2009, I did a new polysomnography at Stanford and I got the result on Tuesday July 2nd, one day before leaving for Europe for 3 and half week, for holidays and work.
The new polysomnography reported a Respiratory Disturbance Index (RDI) of 21.8. The RDI was 21.1 on my first study in October 2007. There are some improvements as I am doing now only Hypo Apneas versus, Apneas and Hypo Apnea in the previous studies. This is still extremely disappointing and the bottom line is that I don’t feel well rested! I would not mind about the index value, if I was fully rested in the morning.
I restarted using my APAP and set the pressure between 6 and 10. After using the APAP for almost 10 days, it reports a pressure between 7 and 9, depending on the days (it was between 15 and 18 before the surgery) and 7 to 12 AHI... and I don't feel rested still...
Has anybody gotten the same experience? Is there any thing else to do after MMA?Thanks a lot
Jerome
