Oh wow, I never even thought about touch sensitivity + CPAP. That is a tough situation!
I am curious whether you have tried sensory integration therapy? I don't know much about it but I've heard the term.
I am a mouth breather and I have found that if I sleep without humidified CPAP, I often get a sore throat. So perhaps your sore throat is a symptom of mouth-breathing? Do you have a stuffy nose?
Waking with a headache is a typical symptom of sleep apnea.
If you use the "Search" link in the upper-right hand corner of this page, you should be able to find posts about UP3. Try searching for "UPPP." My impression from reading this forum is that the traditional UPPP is falling out of favor. Dr. K.L., who posts here under the name "sleepsurgeon," does somewhat of a modified UPPP that preserves the uvula; I think you can read about it in his posts or on his website.
