Treatment bias is the answer.

It's up to you to get input from many different doctors and patients, then make a decision. You will likely not get 2 Drs to say the same thing. The burden is on you to pick which one to believe.

I went to a well-known sleep Dr in a big city who actually shook his head in disgust that I had soft-tissue surgery. And when I finally decided to do MMA, my sleep Dr was appalled, even AFTER it was successful. They are all fired and I can now sleep.

To be fair, Drs do the best they can with the info they have. Sadly, that's just not good enough for many sleep apnea patients.
