Regarding the food and meds: if you have an MMA, you won't be stuck in bed during recovery. You'll be up out of bed and walking around a few days after the surgery. So you will be able to help with the preparation of your food.

The easiest food is that which requires no preparation, e.g. the "Boost" or "Ensure" nutrition drinks which are available in pharmacies. Large retailers such as Target, Rite-Aid, CVS etc. will have their own generic equivalent which is cheaper. It is good to have a bunch of these drinks on hand for those times when you or your boyfriend don't have the energy to prepare anything else.

Everything that is non-liquid will need to go through the blender, so you will need a blender, a strainer, and perhaps some protein powder to add to your recipes. If you search the forums you will find some recipes that work well in the blender.
