Posted by dirtywater on July 26, 2009 at 13:57:44:I recently came across a very intriguing study published this spring, titled "Effects of Oropharyngeal Exercises on Patients with Moderate Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome."

The theory is that one component of sleep apnea is the failure of muscle tone in the airway. Therefore, by using speech therapy techniques to train these muscles, we can lessen the tendency of the airway to collapse.
They reported good results, so I figure I may as well try the exercises and see what happens!
