Posted by sleepyhead on July 30, 2009 at 10:13:44:Had a checkup at the Stanford Sleep Clinic yesterday with Dr.G, and learned I have tachycardia. Dr. R, my MMA surgeon, was alerted by the clinic about this problem. Dr. R now wants me evaluated by his cardiology consultant. Dr. R said that tachycardia is not uncommon in patients with severe apnea. He was pretty matter of fact in our phone call, but he still wants me checked out by a Dr. Roger Winkle in Palo Alto. Have any of you been sent off for a cardiology consult before your MMA surgery?
If so, what sorts of exams/tests did you have to go through? Did a cardiological problem lead to postponement of your surgery? Thanks for your help.
