I saw the jaw surgeon today and I have decided to go forward with the MMA surgery if my insurance covers it. We are waiting for pre-authorization. This dr says most of his patients can return to work within 2 wks and have relief from most problems by two months. This is very different from what I've read here and in the blogs. He also doesn't use arch wires. He uses a new technique with screws, instead.

I don't work, so it doesn't matter much what he said, other than it seems to be different from what most others are told. I am having a terrible time staying awake today. I've taken 3 long naps, although I slept 7 hours last night. It's just so hard to stay alert! I hope I can get authorized for this surgery soon.
