My MMA surgery lasted about 4 hours. After 48 hours, I was able to drive 1/2 hour. Then, 8 days after surgery, the worst part of the pain and the flu like symptoms were gone, and I stopped all medecine but the mouthwash. At 10 days, I was able to drive (round trip is 3 hours) to a Disney resort with my son and spend a whole day queuing for games there ...

At 2 weeks (today): lost 8 pounds, chin numb, face still a bit swollen, mouth with the bothering rubber bands does not open enough, and speech is bad ( plus some personal ENT issues not due to MMA). Probably, I can do any work that does not involve a lot of talking.

So unless one has a job with a lot of talking, returning to work after 2 weeks is possible. May be even a good idea to avoid getting depressed as the healing seems stalled.
