After undergoing a whole series of tests, they concluded all was well but perhaps was not getting enough iron because of my vegetarian diet. Even after talking to nutritionists, I had a difficult time getting enough iron to compensate through just my vegetarian diet.
Recently went to "donate" a unit of blood at the blood center for my MMA. They handed me a sheet of paper, which showed that while most iron-rich food like beef or pork had less than 3 mg, enriched cream of wheat is like a rock-star among them with over 25 mg. May be doubly useful for overcoming anemia and slurping down as soft food, while recovering from MMA.
